Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag admits his side underperformed in their opening pre-season friendly defeat to Rosenborg.

Manchester United kicked off their pre-season campaign with a friendly against Rosenborg, with the Norwegian side winning 1-0 and likely to have scored more goals had it not been for the Red Devils goalkeepers.
While many of the first team regulars remain on holiday following their participation at Euro 2024, there was still outings for Mason Mount, Marcus Rashford and Casemiro, but this was a team performance that irked the manager.
“The result is not secondary, our performance as a team was not good at all. This is not the standard of top football,” Ten Hag said after the game.
‘If you can’t win games, don’t lose like we did in the end, the last second of the game. Of course the performance is more important and the performance was below standard.’
“We can’t compare the fitness levels at the moment. They are in much better shape, but we are Manchester United, we should do better.”
Ten Hag also spoke highly of young goalkeeper Radek Vitek, Promotion ufabet who has made several saves for the team due to the performance of his teammates who seem to be working together to create goals.
“I must say that he (Vitek) had the chance to shine thanks to the team’s performance, which was not good enough,” said the Dutch coach.
